D-Will says Lopez isn't going anywhere

By Mike Mazzeo

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams told reporters in Minnesota on Wednesday that he spoke with Brook Lopez in light of the most recent trade rumor involving the center.

"Brook is having an All-Star year, so I don't see Brook going anywhere," Williams said, according to Newsday.

"It's not too frustrating," Lopez, 24, said of the latest report. "Like I've said a million times, I don't pay attention to that stuff. I just try to go about my business."

RealGM.com reported Tuesday that the Nets were preparing once again to make a run at Lakers center Dwight Howard, which would mean trading Lopez. But a league source emphatically told ESPNNewYork.com that the report was not true.

In 13 games under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo, Lopez is averaging 20.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks on 54.5 percent shooting. Lopez is fifth in the NBA in PER and will find out Thursday night if he'll be going to Houston to participate in his first All-Star Game.
