D-Will and Carlos Boozer reunion?
By Mike Mazzeo
Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer proved to be a lethal pick-and-roll tandem in Utah.
Years later, could they team up in Brooklyn?
Writes ESPN’s Chad Ford in his latest Insider story:
Boozer has been solid in his tenure with the Bulls, but the team has known for a while that it would prefer to move his contract to get more salary flexibility in the future. The Bulls have Taj Gibson to take many of Boozer's minutes and would love to add some perimeter shooting to balance out the team once Derrick Rose returns.
The aforementioned deal for (Andrea) Bargnani would give the Bulls a big man who can really spread the floor. The return of Ben Gordon may be another option for Chicago in a potential three-way deal with Charlotte and Brooklyn.
Boozer, 31, is averaging 15.8 points and 9.3 rebounds for Chicago this season.
Boozer, who will make $15 million this season, has two more years on his contract following the conclusion of the 2012-13 campaign. He will make $15.3 million in 2013-14 and $16.8 million in 2014-15.
Presumably, in Ford’s three-way trade scenario, Kris Humphries and possibly others would wind up with the Bobcats.
The Nets, intent on perhaps upgrading their power forward spot, have been linked to Josh Smith and Paul Millsap.
