W2W4: Nets at Clippers

By Mike Mazzeo

The Brooklyn Nets will try to improve to 3-0 on their eight-game circus road trip when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Tipoff is slated for 10:30 p.m. Here’s what we’ll be watching for:

GETTING OFFENSIVE: The Nets, fresh off their first playoff berth since 2007, have won two straight games while averaging 116 points over that span. Brooklyn is looking to sweep its season-series with L.A. and earn its first road win over the Clippers since Nov. 15, 2010.

“We expected that,” Deron Williams told reporters in Los Angeles when asked about his team qualifying for the postseason. “It’s not time to celebrate. It’s great for the organization. It's great for the fans. But as far we’re concerned, we expected to be there. We're just trying to get as high as seed as possible."

14-4: That’s Williams’ career record when going up against Chris Paul. Williams, who has scored 31 points in each of his last two games, is averaging 23.9 points on 48 percent shooting in 15 games since the All-Star break.

GOTTA HIT ONE-HUNDO: The Nets are 17-3 when scoring 100 or more points in a game. They’ve won their last six games when scoring 100-plus points.
