W2W4: Nets at Nuggets
By Mike Mazzeo
The Nets have never had a winning record on the road over the course of an entire season. They'll get their first crack at road victory No. 21 against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, the sixth stop on Brooklyn's eight-game trip.
Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. Here's what we'll be watching for:
32-3: That is Denver's home record this season. The Nuggets are riding a 17-game home winning streak and have defeated the Nets at Pepsi Center five straight times, by an average of 13.2 points. Luckily for the Nets, the Nuggets will be without Ty Lawson (torn plantar fascia).
FOR STARTERS: Nets forward Reggie Evans is coming off a 22-point, 26-rebound outing on Wednesday night. Center Brook Lopez is averaging a team-best 24.6 points per game on the road trip. Forward Gerald Wallace is averaging 12 points on 50 percent shooting over his past three games. PG Deron Williams had a season-low six points on Wednesday night, but he did have 10 assists and held Trail Blazers PG Damian Lillard to just 4-for-12 shooting.
NO JOE? Guard Joe Johnson (heel) told reporters in Denver that he's doubtful to play. Johnson has missed the team's past two games, but the Nets won both without him.
SCORING TO NEW HEIGHTS: The Nets are averaging 108 points per game during the trip.
DID YOU KNOW? The Nets -- 4-1 on their circus road trip -- have never won more than four games on any road trip in franchise history.
