By now you've surely heard/read about St. John's win over No. 13 Georgetown on Monday night at the Garden -- here are links to the recap, and to my story off the game.

In other local action on Monday:

  • Iona (8-6) picked up its first loss in MAAC play, losing at Siena 73-67. MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Ryan Rossiter had 26 points and 15 rebounds for Siena, who has beaten Iona 10 straight times. Scott Machado had 21 points and seven assists for Iona, while Mike Glover had 18 points and eight rebounds -- ending his streak of eight consecutive double-doubles.

  • Hofstra (8-5) went to 2-0 in CAA play, beating Drexel in Philadelphia 75-69. Charles Jenkins had 23 points for the Pride.

  • St. Peter's (8-6) is now 3-0 in the MAAC, after defeating Canisius at home 63-55. Nick Leon had 20 points for the Peacocks.

  • Manhattan (2-11) suffered its 11th straight defeat, on the road to Rider, 88-78. George Beamon had 24 points in a losing effort.

  • Wagner (6-7) upped its record to 2-0 in the NEC by knocking off the conference's unanimous preseason favorite Quinnipiac at Quinnipiac, 73-68. The Seahawks, pegged to finish 11th in the 12-team conference, were led by Tyler Murray's career-high 28 points.

  • St. Francis of Brooklyn (7-6) lost at Hartford 82-74. Stefan Perunicic had 18 points for the Terriers.

  • Monmouth (5-9) won at home over Bryant, 66-57. Ed Waite had 14 points for the Hawks.
