Former St. John's forward Justin Burrell has signed a contract to play with the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan.

Yokohama is one of four expansion teams in the B.J. League, Japan's second division, located near Tokyo. Burrell will be coached by former University of Arizona player Reggie Geary.

The 6-foot-9 forward was named the Big East's Sixth Man of the Year last season, after averaging 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He finished his St. John's career with 1,006 points (47th in school history) and 609 rebounds (30th).

Burrell is the third member of last year's St. John's squad to sign a professional contract, with Dwight Hardy headed to Italy and Paris Horne to Germany.
