Justin Brownlee goes south of the border

Former St. John's forward Justin Brownlee has signed a contract with the the Toros de Nuevo Laredo in the in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional in Mexico.

The team is based just south of Laredo, Texas, and won its first league title last season.

Brownlee started 31 games for the Red Storm last season, and was second on the squad in both scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounding (5.2 rpg). He is the fourth player from last year's St. John's team to sign a professional contract, with Dwight Hardy going to Italy, Paris Horne to Germany, and Justin Burrell to Japan.
