Iona's Glover makes preseason Wooden list

October, 3, 2011
Iona forward Mike Glover has been named to the preseason watch list for the John R. Wooden Award, given each year to the best college basketball player in the country.

Fifty players make the preseason list, and Glover is the only one this year from a school in the local New York City area.

The 6-foot-7 senior had a tremendous first season at the Division I level, averaging 18.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game for the Gaels. He was among the leaders in Division I in both field goal percentage (61.0) and double-doubles (21).
