St. John's head coach Steve Lavin is expected to be watching from home when the Red Storm open up the regular season Monday night at Carnesecca Arena versus William & Mary.

Lavin has been away from the team since undergoing prostate cancer surgery on Oct. 6, and is still recuperating. It is unclear when Lavin will make his return.

Assistant coach Mike Dunlap will be in charge in Lavin's place.
