Iona, Manhattan win in BracketBuster

Local MAAC contenders Iona and Manhattan both picked up wins at home on BracketBuster Saturday.

Iona beat Nevada, which had won 19 of 20, 90-84. Momo Jones led the way with 18 points, while Scott Machado had 15 assists.

Manhattan topped UNC-Wilmington 79-64, with George Beamon scoring a game-high 22 points.

Iona (22-6) remains in first place in the MAAC at 13-3. Manhattan (19-10) is in fourth place, at 11-5.

Both teams will wrap up the regular season with two more games this week.
