St. John's will participate in the 2012 ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, with games taking place for 24 consecutive hours on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The Red Storm will host Detroit at Carnesecca Arena at 2 p.m., which will be the team's season opener. St. John's lost at Detroit, 69-63, last season.

Two other New York-area schools will take part in the Marathon as well. Stony Brook, the defending America East regular season champions, will play at Rider at 6 a.m. Rider also hosted last year's 6 a.m. game, versus Drexel.
