The sports world is buzzing about Saturday night's clash between No. 5 Notre Dame and No. 8 Oklahoma in Norman (airing on ABC).
Notre Dame is 7-0, off to its best start since 2002.
The Sooners, not surprisingly, don't have any New York-area products on their roster. But the Fighting Irish have a few -- headlined by running back Theo Riddick.
A 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior, Riddick is Notre Dame's leading rusher on the year, with 95 carries for 451 yards and three touchdowns. He hails from Manville, N.J. and Immaculata High School.
Riddick is one of six players from New Jersey on the Notre Dame roster. That list also includes starting cornerback Bennett Jackson, a 6-foot, 185-pound junior from Hazlet, N.J. and Raritan High School.
Notre Dame also has one New Yorker -- 6-foot-5, 255-pound sophomore linebacker Ishaq Williams. A Brooklyn native, Williams went to Lincoln High School. He has 11 tackles on the season.
