St. John's fans will have to wait two extra days for the debut of their 2012-13 men's basketball team.

The school announced Monday that the Red Storm's exhibition opener, against Division II Sonoma State, has been pushed back from Thursday, Nov. 1, to Saturday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. at Carnesecca Arena.

The reason for the change? Travel complications for the visiting team, related to Hurricane Sandy.

Tickets purchased for Thursday will be honored on Saturday.

St. John's then hosts Division III Concordia (Ill.) on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m., its second and final exhibition game.

The team's regular-season opener is one week later -- Tuesday, Nov. 13, again at Carnesecca Arena. Tip-off is at the special time of 2 p.m., as the game is part of the 24-hour ESPN Tip-Off Marathon.
