New York college basketball fans will have at least one team to root for in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

Iona and Manhattan both advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship game, courtesy of wins on Sunday.

Iona (19-13, 11-7), the No. 4 seed, defeated No. 1 seed Niagra 79-73. Manhattan (14-17, 9-9), the No. 6 seed, defeated No. 7 seed Fairfield 60-42.

The championship game will be Monday night at 9 p.m. in Springfield, Mass., and will air on ESPN2.

These two arch-rivals, with campuses approximately nine miles apart, have never met in the conference championship game before.
