By Kieran Darcy
For the second straight week, and the third time this season, Dwight Hardy has been named the Big East Player of the Week.
The St. John's guard scored 28 points in a win over Marquette on Tuesday, and 19 -- including the game-winning shot -- in a win over Pittsburgh on Saturday.
The Red Storm were ranked in both national polls released on Monday -- No. 23 in the Associated Press poll, and No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll. St. John's has not been nationally ranked since Nov. 28, 2000.
Steve Lavin's bunch will be back in action on Wednesday night, taking on DePaul at Carnesecca Arena.
