Hofstra's Jenkins is CAA Player of Year
By Kieran Darcy
Hofstra senior guard Charles Jenkins has been named the Colonial Athletic Assocation Player of the Year for the second straight season, the conference has announced.
Jenkins led the conference and is currently No. 4 in the nation in scoring, at 23.2 points per game. He also led the CAA in assists (4.8 apg), making him the only player in Division I to lead his conference in both scoring and assists. And, Jenkins is shooting a sparkling 52.8 percent from the floor.
Hofstra is the No. 3 seed in the CAA tournament, which is being held in Richmond, Va. They will play in the quarterfinals, against either No. 6 seed James Madison or No. 11 seed William & Mary, on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m.
