QB Dodd regains starting job for Rutgers

By Kieran Darcy

Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano announced Monday that Chas Dodd will start at quarterback when the Scarlet Knights take on Army at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

Dodd took over for freshman Gary Nova in the fourth quarter this past Saturday against South Florida, and led Rutgers on a dramatic comeback, culminating in a 20-17 overtime win.

The 6-foot-1 sophomore from Lyman, S.C., was the starter at the beginning of the season, but was replaced by Nova in a double-overtime win at Syracuse on Oct. 1. Nova started the next five games, but struggled more and more as the weeks went on, before Schiano finally made another switch.
