By Kieran Darcy

Former Texas A&M point guard Jamal Branch, who decided to transfer last week, is making a visit to St. John's this weekend.

Branch, who was ranked the 51st-best high school senior in the country by ESPN in 2011, appeared in 11 games for the Aggies this season, averaging 4.2 points and 2.5 assists in 18.6 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-3 Texas native would be eligible to play starting in the spring semester of next season. Branch played 24 minutes in Texas A&M's 58-57 win over St. John's at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 18, with seven points and five rebounds.
