Stony Brook wins A-East semi at buzzer

By Kieran Darcy

Stony Brook, the America East regular season champions, advanced to the conference championship game in highly dramatic fashion Sunday evening.

With the score tied at 55 in the final seconds, forward Dallis Joyner tipped in a miss at the buzzer to put the Seawolves back in the title game for the second straight season.

Stony Brook lost a heartbreaker to Boston University in last year's America East final, 56-54. The Seawolves are trying to make the NCAA tournament for the very first time.

They'll host the championship game, next Saturday at 11 a.m., versus the winner of No. 2 seed Vermont and and No. 6 seed Hartford.

We'll be there next weeked, to see if Stony Brook can finally get to the Big Dance.
