Justin Burrell back for St. John's

By Kieran Darcy

St. John's senior forward Justin Burrell was cleared to resume practicing with the team on Friday.

Burrell, who averaged 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season, broke a bone in his left hand last month. Burrell should eventually be a candidate to crack Steve Lavin's rotation -- Lavin said last week that he plans to use an eight-man rotation for the most part this season.

The Red Storm tip off their season on Monday night/Tuesday morning at 2 a.m. ET against St. Mary's, airing on ESPN.
