Garrett -- a 6-foot-6, 190-pound small forward from Findlay College Prep in Nevada, and the No. 62 high school senior in the country, according to the ESPNU 100 -- is the eighth player to join Steve Lavin's first full recruiting class at St. John's. Six of those eight players are ranked among the top 100 high school seniors in the country.
"Garrett is a special talent. His length, explosiveness, quickness, and highly-skilled game make him an ideal fit for our system of play," said Lavin in a statement. "Amir was clearly the most tenacious prospect that we evaluated in the 2011 recruiting class and his highly competitive nature will be critical as we build our program."

Wednesday is the last day of the early signing period, so it appears St. John's is done for the fall. Lavin has two scholarships remaining open for next season that he can offer in the spring.
