Rutgers hoops adds Seagears

Rutgers hoops coach Mike Rice added another member to his very impressive 2011 recruiting class on Tuesday.

Jerome Seagears -- a 6-foot-3, 175-pound point guard from Washington, D.C. -- verbally committed to play for the Scarlet Knights starting in the 2011-2012 season.

Seagears is the 33rd-best point guard in his class in the country, according to ESPNU.

"Seagears is an aggressive lead guard that has good strength for his size," reads his ESPNU evaluation. "He has a tight handle and pushes the ball with great pace to put constant pressure on the defense. He attacks the rim as he weaves in and out of defenders where he can finish on a consistent basis."
