For the first time in exactly a month, Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora was on the field participating in individual drills during the portion of practice open to the media on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if he will participate in the team portion of practice. The Giants will reveal how much he did later in the day. The defensive end has missed the last four games with his ankle/knee injury that he suffered against the Saints on Nov. 28.
Wide receiver Mario Manningham (knee): Manningham was on the field during the early portion as well. He missed Saturday's game against the Jets and has been dealing with his knee injury in the second half of the season.
Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (hamstring): Nicks was in the stationary bike area during practice. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Nicks strained his hamstring against the Jets on Saturday.
Tight end Jake Ballard (knee): Ballard did some running on the side at the start of practice. He missed Saturday's game against the Jets. It's unknown at this point if he will be able to play against the Cowboys.
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot): Bradshaw was not practicing on Wednesday. His usual routine is to sit out practice early in the week although he did go through a limited practice last Wednesday before the Jets game.
Linebacker Mark Herzlich (foot): Herzlich was not practicing. He has missed four straight games and could be in danger of missing the finale against the Cowboys.
