Training camp: Day 18 recap

August, 18, 2010
Rhett Bomar, the last QB standing for now, had an up and down practice. He throws a good-looking ball for sure but did have an ill-advised interception by MLB Jonathan Goff, who was just sitting in the area where Bomar threw.

Bomar did connect on a nice pass to TE Travis Beckum, who returned to practice from a hamstring injury. Beckum caught a couple of passes.

Goff is getting better at the middle. He picked off two passes today, another coming off a tip from DT Chris Canty to end practice. MLB Keith Bulluck continues to work with the second team while he makes his way back from ACL surgery.

• • •

RB Brandon Jacobs got the first carry a few times today.

• • •

S Kenny Phillips continues to practice on limited amount of snaps with second team but he did move well and tried to chase down a pass to WR Victor Cruz on the right sideline. Cruz made the catch but Phillips was moving.

• • •

WR Mario Manningham made a terrific catch on a quick slant. CB Bruce Johnson got his hand on the pass but Manningham showed great concentration, snagging the ball out of the air while running.

• • •

WR Ramses Barden (back), S Michael Johnson (back), G Chris Snee (knee), QB Eli Manning (head), TE Jake Ballard (hamstring), LB Chase Blackburn (knee) did not practice.

• • •

WR Steve Smith (groin), WR Sinorice Moss (groin), TE Kevin Boss (hamstring/ankle) and TE Scott Chandler (hip) returned to practice.
