Can't sneak by Big Blue's D

How’s this for a rarity?

The Giants stopped Atlanta’s Matt Ryan not once but twice on fourth-and-1 quarterback sneaks in Sunday’s 24-2 NFC wild-card win.

Teams needing a yard on third or fourth down for a first down in the regular season converted at an 80.9 percent clip on designed QB rushes, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Ryan was 3-for-4 on such tries.

Big Blue’s D, though, gave up just a 62.5 percent clip (5-for-8), on those plays, tied for sixth-best in the NFL.

Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw combined for 90 yards after contact, the most for the duo all season, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
