Jennings: "We haven't forgotten"

January, 9, 2012
The New York Giants have lost the last two times they played Green Bay. But the Packers apparently are the ones with payback on their minds entering Sunday's playoff rematch in Lambeau.

"The team that kept us from our potential Super Bowl in 08 is back on OUR turf now. Trust me, we haven't forgotten. Here.We...GoPackGo!" Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings tweeted on Sunday.

The Packers won't be lacking motivation. The last time these teams met in the playoffs at Lambeau Field, the Giants won the NFC Championship Game 23-20 in overtime on Jan. 20, 2008.

The Giants hope to regain the road-warrior mentality that spurred them to the Super Bowl that magical season.

They are also eager to test themselves against the defending Super Bowl champs while they are playing their best football of the season. They lost a thrilling 38-35 game to the Packers at MetLife Stadium on Dec. 4, but they say they are a different team now, a much more confident team that is playing its best defense of the season.

"It happened for a reason, and hopefully it happened for us as a testament for redemption I guess," defensive end Justin Tuck said of losing to Green Bay in December. "That is something that is going to be on our mind and I am sure it is on theirs, too. I saw the Greg Jennings tweet about remembering what happened in '08. So it is going to be an emotional football game for both teams."
