Giants preseason schedule released

The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants will open the preseason at Jacksonville.

The preseason schedule was released on Wednesday and the Giants will face the Jets, Bears and Patriots, in addition to the Jaguars.

The game against Chicago at home will be televised before a national audience on Aug. 24 on CBS. Here's the preseason schedule below. The regular-season schedule will be announced later this month.

PRESEASON

Week 1 (Aug. 9-12): At Jacksonville -- Tom Coughlin returns to his old stomping grounds with his second Super Bowl ring.

Week 2 (Aug. 16-19): At Jets -- Giants get their first taste of Tebowmania.

Week 3 (Aug. 24): vs Chicago -- Last time they played in the preseason last year, Giants lost Terrell Thomas, Marvin Austin and Brian Witherspoon to season-ending injuries.

Week 4 (Aug. 29): vs New England -- Likely no Super Bowl rematch between Tom Brady and Eli Manning in this preseason finale.
