The lighter side of Coughlin

June, 15, 2012
Giants coach Tom Coughlin has been in such a good mood for months now that Justin Tuck jokingly gave him a new nickname -- "cheese."

Ashley Fox of chatted with Coughlin at the end of minicamp and writes about how he is savoring every moment.

Coughlin is also confident that his team is highly motivated and ready to defend its championship.

And as far as the contract extension he recently signed to stay on for another two seasons after this coming year, Coughlin said, "just a continuation. You just work as hard as you can and you hope that the opportunity is there to continue to be the head coach of the New York Giants, which is a position that I've always been very honored and very proud to be a part of, to have that kind of responsibility and them trusting in me. I'm happy for the coaches. I'm happy for everyone involved because it allows us to continue."

Tell us what you think of the job Coughlin has done and the Giants extending his deal for two more seasons after this one.
