Injury report: Beatty, Jacquian sit

August, 3, 2012
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Will Beatty and Jacquian Williams were held out of practice on Friday.

Beatty's back flared up and appears to be an issue again. The injury held him out of most of OTAs and minicamp during the offseason, but he had practiced every day in camp until Friday. When asked if the team held Beatty out due to precaution, Tom Coughlin made it sound like it was more than that.

"No, he was kind of slowing down a little bit so I think they might look at that," Coughlin said. "His back is bothering him."

Beatty was not on the field. Backup tackle James Brewer also sat out with an injury, so Sean Locklear practiced with the first team at left tackle.

Williams' hip is sore and he watched practice from the side.

"He stepped in something and his hip is sore and they sent him and X-rayed him," Coughlin said. "I don't think there is anything to it, but they didn't let him go today."

Defensive tackle Martin Parker, linebacker Jake Muasau, linebacker Michael Boley and PUP list players Hakeem Nicks, Chris Canty, Clint Sintim, defensive end Justin Trattou and Travis Beckum did not practice.
