Finally... a linebacker

April, 24, 2010
The Giants finally got a linebacker and chose Nebraska MLB Phillip Dillard at the #115 pick in the fourth round.

The 6-foot, 245-pound linebacker is rated the eighth best middle linebacker in the draft according to Todd McShay.

Dillard suffered a season-ending injury midway through the 2008 season when he hurt his ankle. He had 83 tackles last season and three sacks. In 2006, he tore his ACL and missed all but one game before becoming a medical redshirt.

I guess this is one linebacker the Giants believe give them value at this part of the draft. So four picks down, four new defensive players on the roster. Dillard is the first senior taken by the Giants and a fifth-year senior at that.
