Nicks named NFC offensive player of week

September, 19, 2012
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks earned NFC offensive player of the week honors.

Nicks posted 10 catches for 199 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 41-34 win over Tampa Bay. There were certainly plenty of Giants to choose from with Eli Manning's 510 yards passing and three touchdowns and Victor Cruz's 11 receptions for 179 yards and one touchdown.

But Nicks certainly is a worthy winner. He overcame pain in his surgically-repaired right foot and played with plenty of inspiration from Cruz and his grandmother.

And he's eager for an encore in his homecoming to North Carolina on Thursday night.

Who do you think should've won NFC offensive POW? Tell us below.
