PHILADELPHIA –- New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle is active and will try to play with a bruised left knee against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Rolle was listed as questionable entering the game with the injury, which he suffered toward the end of last week’s win over the Panthers when he collided with a television cameraman.
The Giants need Rolle since the secondary is banged up, with rookie cornerback Jayron Hosley (hamstring) out and cornerback Michael Coe nursing a hamstring injury.
Last year’s first-round pick, Prince Amukamara, will make his first NFL start.
The Giants enter the rivalry game with several key players sidelined. Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will miss his second straight game with a foot injury and swelling in his knee. Domenik Hixon will start in place of Nicks, and Ramses Barden is expected to rotate in.
Offensive tackle David Diehl (knee) and linebacker Keith Rivers (hamstring) are also out due to injury.
The Giants’ other inactives are defensive end Adewale Ojomo, tight end Adrien Robinson and guard Mitch Petrus.
