EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tyler Sash returned to the Giants on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
And he's back, it appears just in the nick of time. With Kenny Phillips potentially out for a few weeks with an MCL injury, the Giants can certainly use another healthy body in the secondary.
The Giants have a roster exemption for Sash, and have until Saturday at 4 p.m. to decide whether to use Sash on Sunday against Cleveland. If they choose to, they have to make a roster move to create space for Sash. If not, they have until next Monday at 4 p.m. to make a roster move.
Sash worked out in Miami during the first two weeks of his suspension, before trying to stay in shape in his hometown in Iowa.
“I’m ready,” Sash said. “I’ve been sitting at home. Besides working out, I’ve been watching football trying to be around football. I went to high school practices. I went to seventh-grade football games. I just wanted to be around football."
Sash said he is in shape. As for how long it will take him to get into playing condition, Sash said, “Hopefully by Sunday.”
"Probably get my chance to go Sunday with some injuries, Kenny getting banged up," he added. "We’re not healthy anywhere across the board and in the defensive backfield, so I’m excited to get back.”

> RT @AdamSchefter: Maybe he picks Denver, but Charles Woodson is intrigued with idea of finishing career in same place he started: Oakland.
