EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Ramses Barden has been cleared to resume practicing and playing after recovering from a concussion he suffered on Sept. 30 against Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, running back Andre Brown is not feeling as great after suffering a concussion during Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns. He will have to follow the NFL’s head injury protocol this week before determining his status for next Sunday’s NFC Championship game rematch against the San Francisco 49ers.
Tom Coughlin did not have much to say on the status of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who has been sidelined by swelling in his knee and pain in his surgically repaired foot. Coughlin said Nicks has undergone an MRI on his knee but did not reveal if there is anything structurally wrong with the knee.
“I’m going to wait until I gather all that information,” Coughlin said of whether Nicks will be able to resume practicing once a week again. “Let’s take one day at a time here and see how it works out.”
Also, tight end Martellus Bennett hyperextended his left knee during the 41-27 victory but came back in and played. Coughlin said the tight end was being examined on Monday.
