EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Hakeem Nicks, who was questionable for the Giants' game Sunday with a sore left knee, got banged up but said he was fine after a strong performance.

Nicks had four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown in the 52-27 win over the visiting Saints. At one point he took some contact that might have concerned trainers, but Nicks played down the effect.

“I came through physically OK,” Nicks said. “I think I might have came down a little bit on my knee but I’m so used to doing it, it goes away in about a play or two.”

Nicks confirmed he underwent an X-ray after the game.

“Yeah, I did, everything was good,” said Nicks, who declined to specify whether it was specifically the knee that was examined.

With running back Ahmad Bradshaw a little hampered with a first-quarter knee injury, the passing game had to be sharp, and it was.

“We just know that we’re trying to get to the playoffs, and when we get to the playoffs, we know what time it is,” Nicks said. “We’ve just got to keep taking it one game at a time and look at the team we have to play next week and get after it.”
