Canty lands in Baltimore

The first of the released Giants veterans has found a new home.

Chris Canty tweeted that he signed with the Ravens today. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Canty signed for a deal similar to the one his replacement with the Giants, Cullen Jenkins, signed -- a three-year, $8 million deal, including $2.8 million guaranteed.

Canty was released because he was due $6.25 million this season in base salary and had two years left on his contract. We'll have to see if Jenkins will be able to fill the void left behind by Canty.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw and linebacker Michael Boley, who were also released in cap-cutting moves, are still available.

Giants' interest in Jets FA: The Giants have preliminary interest in Jets free agent guard Matt Slauson, a source confirmed. The Giants want to re-sign Kevin Boothe but could be looking at options in case Boothe signs elsewhere.
