The New York Giants placed Bruce Johnson on the season-ending injured reserve late Monday afternoon.

The cornerback underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week. The backup had played mostly on special teams this season.

The Giants were awarded defensive end Alex Hall off waivers. Hall, who was released by the Cardinals, was with the Giants during training camp. He was waived/injured with a shoulder injury on Sept. 4.

Hall will provide the team with some depth at defensive end after Mathias Kiwanuka was placed on IR last Thursday with a herniated disk in his neck.
