Steppin' to the AM: Nicks watch continues

The Giants reported to training camp a week ago today, and the main story basically from the get-go has been wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.

Nicks, trying to bounce back after an injury-plagued 2012, injured his groin early in the second day of practice, was limited in practice the next two days, and didn't work at all on Thursday.

Head coach Tom Coughlin didn't sound too concerned Thursday, but wide receivers coach Kevin M. Gilbride said Nicks needs to practice.

Will he be back on the field Friday? We'll find out soon.

In case you missed it: Antrel Rolle sounded fired up about the Giants' defense on Thursday, particularly the defensive backs, saying the difference in intensity from last year to this year "seems like night and day." Also, several Giants reacted to the Riley Cooper controversy on Thursday.

The 411: The weather looks better Friday, so the Giants should be back outdoors, and could be in full pads for the first time. Practice begins at 1:30 p.m. Please follow MazzESPN for updates via Twitter.
