Red-faced coach: Tom Coughlin was absolutely furious with his team for turning the ball over six times. "I'm totally embarrassed about that sloppy, sloppy football," Coughlin said. "You can't win turning the ball over. The carelessness, the lack of understanding that that's how you lose."
Pumping up David Wilson: The second-year running back, of whom so much is expected this season, was benched in the third quarter after his second fumble of the game. Terrell Thomas said he spoke to Wilson. "I told him, 'This is how you define yourself,'" Thomas said. "Are you going to tuck your tail, or are you going to come back strong?" The Giants know they need Wilson to play. Asked if he thought Wilson would get down on himself, Eli Manning said, "That's not an option." Of his benching, Wilson said, "Coach made that decision, and I can't blame him for it."
Not there yet: Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, coming off June back surgery, played mainly on third downs and said he wasn't at his best. He said his back didn't hurt and he wasn't tired, but that he "needs to get in that football shape."
