Giants playoff breakdown: Win and need Green Bay to lose

December, 27, 2010
So the Giants squandered a chance to clinch a playoff spot. Now they need help in order to make the postseason.

After the Saints beat the Falcons on Monday night, the Giants' path to the postseason is pretty simple: they must find a way to win their 10th game of the season and beat the Redskins on Sunday at Landover. And then they need Green Bay to lose to Chicago or finish with a tie at Lambeau next week.

The other way in was for the Giants to win and New Orleans to lose its last two games. That can't happen anymore with the Saints' victory.
