Perry Fewell's head coaching opportunities is expected to dwindle down to the Denver Broncos in the next 48 hours.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Browns are trying to complete a contract with Pat Shurmur, the Rams offensive coordinator.

Fewell, the Giants defensive coordinator, interviewed with the Browns on Tuesday. He remains a candidate for the Denver Broncos job after he interviewed with Broncos brass on Sunday.

John Elway, Broncos executive VP of football operations, is considering Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, Jaguars' offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, former Panthers head coach John Fox and interim head coach Eric Studesville.

Fewell interviewed with the Panthers but Carolina hired former San Diego defensive coordinator Ron Rivera. San Francisco also was interested in talking to Fewell before they hired Jim Harbaugh.
