David Tyree would give up his historic Super Bowl 42 catch to stop same-sex marriage from happening.

The Super Bowl XLII hero, known for his unforgettable catch with the aid of his helmet which helped stun the Patriots, is opposed to gay marriage and said last week that it could lead to “anarchy.”

“The catch was a gift,” Tyree told the New York Daily News. “That was a miracle. There's nothing worth more than (fighting to keep heterosexual marriage) right here for me.”

When asked if he would give up one of the most famous catches in Super Bowl history to prevent same-sex marriage, Tyree answered, “Honestly, I probably would.”

"Nothing means more to me than that my God would be honored," Tyree said in the interview. "Being the fact that I firmly believe that God created and ordained marriage between a man and a woman, I believe that that's something that should be fought for at all costs."

"So I'll lay down everything I am to preserve the honor and integrity of the God that I serve."

Last week, Tyree appeared in a video for the National Organization for Marriage saying that gay marriage could “be the beginning of our country sliding toward, it is a strong word, but anarchy." Former teammate Michael Strahan and Giants chairman and executive VP Steve Tisch are among the celebrities who appear in videos advocating New Yorkers for Marriage Equality through the Human Rights Campaign.

"Once you allow something like same-sex marriage, it opens up the door for a continual softening to the backbone of our society,” Tyree said. “Which will eventually, for generations to come, open up the door for who knows, polygamy, and all other (things)."
