Shawn Andrews may become a cap casualty, but he has every intention of playing for the Giants this season.
The veteran offensive lineman tweeted Saturday night, “LMAO!! Why Wouldn’t I Wanna Work For The Best Organization In The League #IMO”
The tweet was in response to a question by WFAN’s Giants reporter Paul Dottino, who asked Andrews, “Do you expect to play for NYG this season?”
With the Giants reportedly projected to be over the salary cap by $11.34 million, Andrews is a candidate to be released, according to ESPN.com’s John Clayton.
According to Clayton, the Giants can slice $7.333 million by releasing Andrews.
They have 30 days after the start of the league year to decide whether to pay Andrews a $3.5 million roster bonus.
