So Osi Umenyiora's camp is no longer allowed to talk to teams about a trade.

And Osi was excused by Jerry Reese from Wednesday night's practice to "clear his head" and told that the Giants will see him in the morning according to a source.

What's next in the Osi saga?

Well, first off, Umenyiora showed up on Wednesday night anyway, riding the stationary bike.

Other than that? None of us know for sure.

The Giants still could talk trade with other teams, knowing they won’t get a first-round pick in return. Right now it appears the Giants aren't willing to part with Umenyiora at a lower price.

So what will Umenyiora do next?

It's possible that the defensive end could continue to show up to the team, participate in meetings but continue not to practice until the Giants do something with his contract. Tom Coughlin has said that Umenyiora's surgically repaired hip is not the reason why he is not practicing.

Not one Giant has come out and said anything remotely critical of Umenyiora. The players support their defensive end and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has said that Umenyiora has basically been acting like he’s on the team in meetings.

Umenyiora has not spoken to reporters outside of an email sent to the Associated Press.

The Giants could eventually fine or suspend the defensive end if he's healthy and doesn’t start practicing. We’ll have to wait and see what transpires. But one has to wonder if the Giants will see Umenyiora's value drop on the trade market if this situation gets nasty.

We'll soon find out if Umenyiora returns with a clear head as the Giants hope.
