We spent most of the morning watching #21 on the field. But here’s some other things we were able to spot on the field from the morning practice:
The “Big Base” defensive alignment got a good amount of work again on Monday. This is the one with DE Mathias Kiwanuka playing strongside linebacker while DE Justin Tuck, DT Barry Cofield, DT Rocky Bernard and DT Chris Canty play up front. Canty lines up at right defensive end.
Kiwanuka’s versatility comes out whenever he plays in this alignment or the one where there are four defensive ends up front. Kiwanuka tried to chase down RB Brandon Jacobs, who has looked fast thus far in camp, from one side of the field to the other and nearly made it over there. Last week, when the offense attempted a draw against the four defensive-end front, Kiwanuka contained RB Ahmad Bradshaw on the left edge.
Kiwanuka still remembers what it's like to play linebacker and it appears he will get a few snaps doing so.

Tackle Will Beatty was poked in the eye but he appears to be fine.
• • •
The cornerbacks continue to have a solid camp. CB Corey Webster had a couple of pass deflections and a pick off QB Eli Manning on a deep pass intended for WR Ramses Barden in 7-on-7 drills.
• • •
WR Victor Cruz had a stellar morning session, making two impressive catches, including a deep over-the-shoulder grab from QB Rhett Bomar in 7-on-7 drills.
• • •
TE Bear Pascoe, getting a lot of work with TE Kevin Boss dealing with a hamstring issue, also showed off his receiving skills with two nice catches, one coming on a perfect pass from Manning over S Antrel Rolle.

C Shaun O'Hara said his ankle felt "pretty good" in his first practice since swelling developed in a chronic condition in his the joint of his ankle.
"Hopefully a week from now I'm not even thinking about it," O'Hara said.
