Weather report doesn't faze Coughlin
By Mike Mazzeo
That’s how long Giants coach
press conference lasted on Friday.
Coughlin said his team had “good energy” on Friday and practiced “very fast and were spirited.”
The Giants have actually had back-to-back strong practices, Coughlin said.
Then someone mentioned to Coughlin that it snowed in Green Bay on Friday and was expected to snow again on Saturday.
So does he care?
“Not really,” Coughlin replied. “This time of year, you know what you’re getting into, so we’re prepared for it.”
And it’s not like they’re going to have to play through a minus-23 wind chill like they did in the 2007 NFC title game on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field.
According to weather.com, it’s supposed to be 31 degrees and mostly cloudy on Sunday.
On Friday, the Giants practiced inside their practice bubble because their fields outside were wet.
Still, it was pretty cold, and this reporter’s hands looked an awful lot like Coughlin’s cheeks during that ’07 conference title game by the time the half-hour session open to the media was over.
Nevertheless, the Giants seem prepared for the weather that awaits.
They even pumped in some artificial crowd noise to get a feel for what it’s going to be like in Green Bay come Sunday.
