New security measures for Sunday

By Matt Ehalt

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Giants will follow the NFL's new security policy regarding bags for Sunday's second preseason game against the Colts at MetLife Stadium.

The NFL Committee on Stadium Security passed a stricter policy in May that restricts the size and type of bags that fans can carry.

The Giants "strongly encourage" fans not to bring bags, but fans will be allowed to bring in bags that meet certain qualifications. Here's the list:

• One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, and does not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches

• A one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (example: Ziploc)

• Small clutch bag, roughly the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap

• Exceptions will made for "medically necessary" bags after an inspection

Items that will not be allowed inside the stadium include: Purses larger than a clutch bag; coolers; briefcases; fanny packs; backpacks; seat cushions; cinch bags; luggage; camera bags; computer bags; binocular cases and bags larger than the permitted size.

The Giants sent clear bags to season-ticket holders, with one bag distributed for every two tickets on an account.
