TE Patrick unretires, Giants release him

By Ian Begley

Tight end Ben Patrick, who suddenly left the Giants in early August after signing with them just five days earlier, has returned to football, according to Savannah Morning News.

But he is no longer with the Giants.

The team had to waive or release Patrick in order for him to be reinstated, so they released his rights.

The Giants are thin at tight end, with Travis Beckum questionable due to a hamstring injury, leaving Jake Ballard (2 catches for 59 yards last Sunday) and Bear Pascoe as the only tight ends on the roster.

It's unclear at this point how feasible a Patrick-Giants reunion is.

Even though he left the Giants five days after signing, would you like to see the Giants add Patrick?
