Rolle not talking trash Sunday?
By Mike Mazzeo
Earlier this week,
told Arizona reporters that his former teammate, Giants safety
, sent him a text message “talking trash” and “asking for tickets.”
“That’s Dockett being Dockett, man,” Rolle said Friday. “I haven’t event talked to Dockett about the game or anything of that nature. The only thing I did is ask him for tickets.”
So where are Rolle’s friends and family going to be sitting on Sunday? In the nosebleed section?
“No. No. He’s not gonna do that,” Rolle said. “I have to see him in the offseason, so he don’t want those problems.”
• Rolle is a notorious trash-talker. Just don’t expect his other former teammate,
, to participate in any back-and-forth banter.
“You know those Miami guys,” said Fitzgerald, who played for Pittsburgh. “I prefer to let the results speak for themselves.”
However, on Sunday, Rolle also claims he’s also going to keep his mouth shut.
“I’m not gonna talk to him during the game either,” Rolle said. “I’m too tired of talking man. I do a lot of running around. I’m not gonna have the energy.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve been opposite each other on the field,” Rolle said, perhaps alluding to their collegiate days, when he inadvertently gave
Fitzgerald a bloody nose in 2003
“It’s going to be a great matchup.”
• Rolle played five seasons in Arizona before being cut and signed a mega free-agent deal in New York, but he claims Sunday’s just going to be like any other game.
“I got out there to win, and that’s it,” Rolle said. “This game is a whole lot bigger than me.”
