Early Practice report: Boley on field

By Matt Ehalt

Giants linebacker Michael Boley was on the field during the portion of practice open to the media Thursday but receiver Hakeem Nicks was on the side riding a stationary bike. Here's the breakdown of who was in and who was out on Thursday:

Linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring): Boley was on the field with the linebackers but did not appear to have pads on. He's hopeful he will be able to return after missing the previous two games, both losses. Boley did some agility work on Wednesday.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot): Bradshaw was on the side doing some light running. He said he plans on playing Sunday against the undefeated Packers. He has missed the last four games, as the Giants are 1-3 in those games, with a broken foot.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (ribs/concussion): Nicks was on the side riding a stationary bike during the portion of practice open to the media. He missed practice Wednesday as he had a headache. The team put him through concussions tests and he was cleared.

Wide receiver Mario Manningham (knee): Manningham was alongside his fellow receiver, Nicks, on a stationary bike. He missed Wednesday's practice with his knee injury that also kept him out of Monday night's loss to the Saints.

Defensive end Justin Tuck (ankle): Tuck was out on the field with the defensive lineman but did not appear to have his pads on. He was limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday.

Safety Antrel Rolle (back): Rolle was out on the field with the defensive backs on Thursday after missing practice with a back injury on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Victor Cruz (hip): Cruz was practicing Thursday after being a limited participant on Wednesday.

Defensive back Derrick Martin (hamstring): Martin also was practicing after being a limited participant on Wednesday.

Linebacker Mark Herzlich (foot): Herzlich was not on the field and is in a walking boot after injuring his ankle against the Saints on Monday.

Defensive end Osi Umenyiora (ankle/knee): Umenyiora was not on the field and will likely miss Sunday's game. Sources have said that he is expected to miss next week's game against Dallas as well.
